    Very versatile, a must have!

I was looking for a pan to cook pizza's on for the children, I am a convert to cast iron cookware at the moment. It is non stick when seasoned and very, very hard wearing. These pans will last me a life time. I have so far cooked scones, pizza's, naan and paratha's on them, they cook beautifully on these nice, thick pans. They are great on the gas hob or in the oven, no non stick teflon flaking off into the food either. As with any cast iron cookware they need seasoning after use, it's very easy just to wipe a bit of cooking oil over them with a piece of kitchen paper which keeps them looking black and shiny. I love these pans and would definitely recommend, at about a third of the price of a Lodge pizza pan you really can't go wrong!

    Rough and shoddy.

As another user has stated this has a really poor finish, it should be smooth, not roughcast. It traps all manner of impurities. It does have to be seasoned and the instruction book says to heat the stone first otherwise if you place it in a preheated oven it may crack. I have had this happen to me. This is not covered under the warranty. When one this of stone I think of a ceramic-based material this states cast iron! You can not do a Dosa on this it's too rough so will not peel due to the indentations, and if you are elderly or have issues like Carpal Tunnel syndrome, leave well alone it's too heavy to be of practical use to such users, may bend your oven tray too.

  • Fantastic in our pizza oven

Fantastic to use in our pizza oven and the shape means the pizzas are easy to get off. Pizza bases are cooked to perfection. Love it!

  • A lot of plus points for the wood fired oven.

Bought this for my pizza oven . The large eyelet and domed base make it easy to spin inside the oven . Coated it with olive oil on the hob a few times before use and along with a sprinkling of polenta made pizza release a dream. Makes really crisp base. Joy to use.

  • Stone Age cooking!

I bought this specifically to make Staffordshire oatcakes, a pancake size flatbread made of oatmeal and water fermented from sourdough. After a few days' experimentation with temperatures, oil, timing and gas rings I can report that it is 100% right for the job. I use a metal fish slice, tiny wipe of oil and it cooks perfectly. A bonus: there's no washing up either! It's primitive looking and rather heavy and has a very shallow dishing. It's exactly perfect for what I wanted it for.

  • Perfect cooking

I love the baking stone. It is a good size and certainly not flimsy! I have only used it once so far to make flat bread. It turned out beautifully and did not stick. Make sure it is primed correctly before first use. I would highly recommend this product.

  • A first class solid iron skillet. Also works well on an induction hob. Plus you can use it outside on a BBQ to make flap jacks or toast burger buns

  • Just as good as mum-in-laws.

A bit surprised by the weight but cooks beautifully. Speed of delivery first class as was packaging. If there is a downside...some relevant recipes to go with it would be the 'icing on the cake' so to speak. If you want to cook using a Griddle/Girdle this does the job.
