Amazing design and mild shave
Impeccable design and incredibly smooth shaves! Comes in a Japanese origami inspired box that is an experience to open in itself. A bit over-hyped
There is no doubt that this razor is a nice looking piece of kit. Very well made. However, a razor is not purchased to be looked at or admired like something in an art gallery or museum - it is purchased for the specific purpose of shaving. This razor does not perform this function any better than a good quality razor costing half the price of this one. The main problem with this razor is that it has to be held at a different angle to my other razors - about 45degs to about 30degs. Once you get the " sweet " spot it does the job and does it well and yes - it is a good razor - it is also a very mild razor however, I'm not sure that the performance of this razor justifies the asking price. You pays your money and....
I read a few reviews before treating myself to this razor and they were all in raptures about it. Well I agree it is a nice razor to use, but I'm not sure it's actually the best, or great value. The main difference between this and my "starter" razor is that the Feather is a lot more gentle but if I were to lose it I reckon I would go for one of the others around the £40 mark.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

100% Recommend the Best Safety Razor by Far
I used a Gillette Fusion for years then bought a Merkur 34C which was good but the AS-D2 is in a totally different league and gives an amazing shave with very few nicks it is significantly better than the Merkur 34C which I gave to my son and of course when you factor in the cost of Gillette Fusion blades this razor is not that costly after a years use even if like me you use a new blade every three days.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is an excellent 2 pass razor if you have a heavy-ish growth. For an outstanding shave do a 3rd pass "against the grain" using a less aggressive razor such as the Merkur 34c.
