Sturdy well made, easy to use.
This works well to mix my compost contents which are in those round black compost bins. Otherwise it would be difficult to do so. Sometimes the side arms don’t open. I think chopping up the vegetation would improve mixing. This item is sturdy and easy to use, an improvement on the claw.

Rubbish
The barbs quickly become full of compost and it stops them closing on the main shaft. This makes it very hard to then push it in to the compost and when it eventually gets through, it just comes back up through the same hole it made as it went in. It doesn't really work. I now use a post auger and this works pretty well

MAKES COMPOSTING MUCH EASIER
The tool does exactly as it is supposed to do. I modified it slightly: I sawed 1-3/8" (3.49cm) off each end of the handle. It is now far easier to use in the top of the "Dalek" type compost bins I have. That 2-3/4" (6.98cm) of tube saved from the handle would have been better used to increase the length of the main shaft. Nevertheless, it does an excellent job of lifting the contents of the bins; far better than the spiral type I bought elsewhere. All in all 9.9 out of 10!

great tool for stopping compost from compacting , regular use lifts and aerates the compost really well , takes a few tries to get used to , but once you get the hang of it no problem , has helped my heap break down much better , stopping the wet slimy mess that can occur . just the tool i needed.

Simple to use and good quality
I've had Darlac products before. Always found them good quality and value for money. This product is as good as all the others. Easy to use with strong easy to hold handles. Feels very robust and when you pull up the compost you are more likely to run out of strength than break it.

Pleased it has two handles
Lets say it works and I'm pleaded it has two handles as it needs them, because the mouth (the open V) is really too wide, so if you go deep, in your muck, it takes a lot of effort to pull it out, but it work :-)

Quality item, gets the job done
I've been using a basic one which was nothing more than a piece of curly metal on the end of a wooden stick; it did the job but VERY hard work. The Darlac aerator made it so much easier, although I would simply say to other buyers...make sure you tighten the bolts on the handle properly, I forgot to do it and lost one of them (it was more as the result of me being eager to try it and NOT a fault issue with the item itself).
