Very good thermometer which gives an accurate oven reading, and British into the bargain. I chose Brannan because I have had one of their small thermometer/hygrometers for well over 40 years and still going strong. I needed this to test my gas oven and this has told me that it reads 10 - 20 degrees lower than it should and subsequently it has improved things no end. I recommend all bakers to have one of these as there appears to be a lot of inaccuracies with domestic ovens.

Often thought my gas oven was a bit on the cold side temp dial goes from 1-9, most of the time my cooking is slightly higher than middle of oven so what ever is getting cooked fits in, the thermometer shows that if something needs cooking at gas mark 6 or 204 deg c i need to turn my oven up to 7 to get that temp at the shelf height so handy little gauge.
