I bought one of these mini-iron to solder up some wiring on my car outside using a power bank, I was not sure if it would be good enough especially as it is currently winter. All I can say is “WOW”, it did the job with no bother at all, despite its low power rating and the fact that the tip is so small. My only issue is the stupid auto power off function, you have to keep moving the iron or touch the button every few second to keep it turned on, which is a total pain. I have to take away a rating point due to the auto power of function, this should never have been part of this cheap iron, as it does not enhance it at all. The tip does look like it would be very flimsy and not last very long, but for this silly low price it did the job with ease. I probably would not use it on a PCB, I will stick to my mains solder station for that. One a final note, I would not like to say how long it would last, as I only wanted it for one very small job, so maybe won’t be using it again. Read full review
