    Rich’s new saw.

Bought this saw to cut a large floor tile to fit around a wall and to have an opening for a heat register instead of cut the tile in at least 2 pieces. The included diamond blade cut the like quickly an easily. The tile fit just as intended. The saw is easy to use and the built in laser really helped.

    Pros and Cons

I bought this as a nice way to avoid larger saws. The blade is very small and to get a good cut rate, the RPM is high - this means heat! I cut 1/4 inch plexiglass and got exactly 23 inches before the blade they supplied burned up. Buy a carbide blade. To get the blade to extend and cut, you must exert significant down pressure with forward motion much like a plunge cut. The blade is hidden in the housing until the "plunge" then you must use the footplate for cut guidance (can't see the blade) making the last 2-3 inches of a thru-cut pretty much blind. For an accurate cut with a harder material, this didn't work for me, I use my table saw. The saw is well made and for light work in soft wood, with practice, this is a nice tool. It is designed for safety and you would have to be something of a "Clutz" to hurt yourself.

  • Rockwell 3440K

My original mistake was ordering the 3440 instead of the 3441which, is really what I wanted. (4 1/2" blade rather than the 3"). The saw is very awkward to use with the position of the incorporated handle and trigger that does fit well in my hand while trying to push the saw platform down while sawing. Very unorthodox. My small Skil saw is much easier to use that the 3440. Also, I did not receive any batteries with the kit to power the laser. (3 buttons required). I would return the saw if I could because it will get minimum use since it is so awkward and heavier than I thought it was going to be. Very disappointed in the saw.

  • Great for small jobs and hobbyests.

This is a quality product that is easy to use. Great for quick cuts when you don't want to use a table saw or dig out your heavy circular saw. Light weight. fun to use.

  • Know Your Need Before You Buy

This is a useful tool as it pertains to lighter jobs. Some full-sized circulars won’t cut precisely straight lines and they’re typically heavier and more durable. That said, it took me some practice to get this to cut straight. You have to view where the blade actually hits your material before starting your cut, then take note of where your guides are at that point. Once you’ve done that a few times, you can become pretty consistent with your cuts and get what you’d expect. Otherwise, the saw seemed to cut a bit to the left of the line when I just trusted the guide. The laser seemed slightly off, which becomes a problem for longer cuts. I turned it off because I couldn’t see drawn lines with it on. with adequate power, longer cuts through thicker materials meant I was more likely to burn the blade. Carefully backing out or lifting out of the cut and resuming did help, but the lighter, smaller blades made long cuts more difficult than I’d have liked... Overall, a good tool for lighter work and short straight cuts.

  • Lightweight, Packed with Features

Have owned this saw for several years now. I bought it for a single cut in a tight space. It did the job. Now I use it more than my 7-1/4. It is light weight and the thin blade is fabulous for cutting in difficult places. The plunge depth is very handy for remodeling and the laser makes me wish I had one on every saw.

  • Very little power

This saw bogs down very easily and gets stuck. The blades get hot quickly and so you have to work fast if you don't want to breath a lot of wood smoke. I've used it to tear out plywood flooring in an RV, to cut 2x4's, and thin to medium pieces of metal. It's tedious to use this tool. I've since replaced it with a skill-saw that is light weight, with an electric brake, and a good old fashioned grinder. I still have the tool because I don't want to throw it away working. I wouldn't give it as a gift for someone else to store, and I'm not sure it needs to go to a thrift shop where a very poor person might come off some precious cash for it. I really wish I had not bought it. Although, I suppose it serves as a learning experience; I've bought some very nice tools since.

  • Lightweight with a lot of good features

What you get with the saw is a very good starter kit. The machine itself works extremely well although the plunge springs are a little strong to press down when you are making a cut, apart from that it works very well. The blades are a little tricky to change, but once you do it a few times its not so bad. All in all an excellent piece of kit.

  • This jinsaw is great but with limit use.

Its a great and simple jinsaw but you only can use to cut wood from the beginning of the edges. Yoy cant just cut on a center of it or anything else. It works as described but never got the vacuum bag which is needed for all the dust of cutting so it doesn't go on the floor or in your eyes.

  • small circular saws

Does a good tile on wood, tile and metals. Too small to work on 2 x 4's, etc. due to the blades small size. Like the idea of plunge cuts. Due to age and arthritis of hands and shoulders, I find it hard to use larger saws with the small jobs. This saw definitely fills that niche.
