Great reel for the price
Having bought a pricier Shimano Stradic FK recently I decided to add a Sahara C3000 and have not been disappointed. Whilst the Sahara, a much cheaper reel, can't match the superb Stradic, it really is a fab reel in its own right with great line lay which leads to huge casts using Gliss line. The drag is flawlessly smooth, taming 6lb pollack with ease on a light spinning rod, the bail snaps shut like a mousetrap, and the retrieve is super smooth. It doesn't have the same waterproofing seals as more expensive Shimanos but treat it with respect, don't drive salt into the anti reverse bearing when rinsing and it should give good service for many seasons. Appearance wise, the Sahara is on the glitzy side compared to some reels, with gold anodised spool and handle, chrome plated parts and sparkly bodywork.
