Quick way to perform safe and accurate PAT electrical tests on equipment.
The item I purchased was marked as faulty and came with the protective cover missing I will be reviewing this as if it was complete and fully working. Item is compact but not fiddly to use. It comes with all the leads and adaptors needed to perform tests on the majority of items you will meet. To test ALL items you will probably have to invest in a few adaptors and extra leads but this is a good starting point. The user manual (I did not get one with my unit but it is downloadable in pdf format from manufaturer's website) is well written and detailed but assumes (not unreasonably) that the user has knowledge and experience of electrical safety plus the PAT regulations. As this is mains powered (unlike the battery powered siblings) you can do functional tests on items up to 3kVa. I have spent some time checking operation (using external resistors etc) and the accuracy seems to be pretty good - certainly good enough taking into account the safety margins built into the limits in the regs.
