Excellent for beginners
This antenna was easy to install. I am using it as a starter and was really was just plugging it in and off you go. The SWR reading was 1:1.2 - 1:1.4 so not bad for being set up inside my apartment (restrictions means I cannot have this outside) Although the range is not as good as it could be given better operating conditions, it performs very well.

Got some good dxing reports.
Be alright depends we're you live nowadays. On cb UK 40 FM . But I am amazed on what DX qso,s . My signal into France radio 5 my qso into Finland my furthest copy so far signal 5 and 8 on my silver rod I got a qso into Sweden Finland is further I think people have underestimated the Excalibur .I had it mounted on a 9 feet wooden mast in total the Excalibur was only 23 feet off the ground from tip of antenna. I am very pleased on the antennas performance excellent probably works better for side band than UK 40 FM brilliant antenna

Great compact antenna for the money
If like me you want to get into cb radio but haven’t got the room to get a 5m long antenna way up high then this little beauty may be just the job. At just under 1m high with an integral mounting bracket it can either be clamped to a pole with the u bolts supplied or mounted inside a loft space and screwed or bolted to a shed or garage wall as it needs no ground plane or tuning which is instead provided by attaching coaxial cable at a specified length. Ok, so your not going to get the same range from this antenna as you would expect to get from a 5m antenna mounted at rooftop height but it still gets a pretty decent reception and transmission range of around 5 miles when mounted in an ideal location and tuned correctly.

What a fantastic antenna! I bought this as I don't really have the space for the huge home base antennas you see. This beauty is in no way less than ANTS 5 times the size! No SWR tuning really worried me but after plugging it in to my CB I got an SWR of 1.0 . I then used it on 2M band and got an SWR of 1.5! Amazing!

Good if space is a bit short.
Good range. I had a 50 mile copy using this on the UK 40, with no apparent lift and using the legal power (12 watts) The 10 metre band has not been very active of late, but I expect to have good SSB contacts using this antenna when conditions improve. The golden rule here is "Height is Might" , so get it as high off the ground as you can. A good buy

I haven't put it up yet as I live in a second floor flat I'm going to mount it on my window sill outside it's wood and my flat is about 25 to 40 feet up so I think I get a good signal I don't no about ssh or ssl as I got a crt ss6900 n problem to cb so if I shout out eney one for a radio check lisn out for ct 39-23. 73s

The pole mounting bracket is not an earth. Even with the recommended length of cable the swr wouldn't drop. I tried everything to improve the signal. The only option was to replace with a silver rod. Not a recommend purchase Not good quality
