Additional Respritort Safety Precautions should be followed!!!
Safe is a relative word! With knowlege and applied safety precautions, the user will be kept safe as well as their AC Unit!
Directions don't indicate this product is harmful if inhaled (except in the first Aid Section)! Otherwise it "Does Not" in the "Precaution Section" or the in the "Directions" for use. Also it doesn't indicate if coils that deliver air into the room are cleaned, all resedue must be thoroughly rinsed and dried to avoid breathing vapors or fumes!
I cleaned the condenser coils and conditioned air/heat exchanger coils on my indoor portable AC Unit and I suffered for nearly 4 days. Severe throat irritation w/immense pain, body aches, bronchial irritation & coughing w/ yellowish phlem produced. I've recovered but believe the assumption by the Mfg & the AC industry is that the Condition Air/heat exchanger coils are rarely cleaned due to the difficulty in accessing them. The warnings indicate that the product is corosive or a skin irratant. Inhalation issues are not identified except in the First Aid Section of the label. In the precautions section, it simpy idendifies skin, eye and face protection but nothing about respritory protection or the need for adequate ventilation.
So this review is meant to help educate and warn potential buyers not to do as I did!
As far as how well it cleans the coils, it does work very well.
