Great Ice Cream Maker and easy to use.
This is a great ice cream maker and when it did pack up, I sent it off and it was replaced with a new machine. It is easy to use and all you do is put the ice cream custard in the machine at room temperature and it makes the ice cream. The only problem is that if you see the ice cream is stiff and you have 5 mins or less you can't decrease the time. After an hour it keeps it cool if you are not around. I found that if it has made the ice cream, I just turn it off. It has an easy to remove bucket and you get a free scoop to put the ice cream into a container. Sometimes it is soft and easy and other times a bit stiff. I have been making ice cream (first by hand then by the freezer pots and now by this machine) for years and this is a really good item. I have tried some of the recipes that you get with the machine but I use it for my own ice cream that I make with my own recipes. The only bad side that I can see is that it takes about an hour each time you use it rather than 40 mins or 30 mins that I am used to but having said that, it is easy to clean and the paddle is very different in it's design. I have not got a full 2 ltrs out of it yet but I have had a ltr and two bowls full. All in all and despite the problems with the first machine. I do like it and how it runs. It is good that I don't have to make room in the freezer anymore other than putting in ice cream.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great machine
This is a very easy to operate machine that is easy to clean. It would benefit from a “load line” in the container to indicate the maximum amount that can be made at one time. Very good at its job. Its job is not to deliver you perfect ice cream, that's your job.
PROS - It gets cold pretty fast and can freeze your recipe in well under an hour. - It's easy to clean, with only the basket and the stirring fins touching your ice cream (if you are careful). CONS - The basket has a capacity of 2 liters as advertised, but when the ice cream begins to become... icy, it gets stuck on the fins and removed from between them. That limits its real capacitance dramatically. It could have something to counter this effect Keep in mind it won't help you make a commercially available grade ice cream. You have to find a recipe to come as close as possible and even good cooks have problem with that. I have found that using only light whipping cream as the base has the correct amount of fat (around 20%) to remove almost every crystal like feel from the ice cream, but it's still not foamy...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works well, but...
Freezes well, regular ice-cream takes about 1 hour from room temp custard, 45 mins if well chilled. A little complicated scraping frozen cream off the paddle, and doesn’t sense when ice-cream is ready. Otherwise good.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
