This stone cuts very quickly and may be used dry, due to it's composition. I use it to sharpen a forged sickle and it is the perfect shape for this, but is a little weighty. The only problem is a single thin rough seam of about 1/4" that runs longitudinally, the rest of the stone being suitably shaped.
