Fiddly fun to make - very entertaining long afterwards
Like a lot of these laser-cut wood models, this one can be fiddly in places and needs some patience to construct, but it comes with a a clearly laid out instruction book. Everything needed to construct the puzzle is in the box. Rather than leave wasted space on the ply sheets, several smaller bits are cut into the gaps in case there's a mishap during construction. The manufacturer will also replace other individual bits on request. Many wooden models similar to this one rely on rubber bands to work and these are prone to perish over time. Replacing a broken rubber band that's essential to it working properly can be very frustrating, especially when these are deep inside the model. Thankfully this model only relies on wooden gears and cams, a crank handle, a lot of ball bearings and gravity - no rubber bands. Unlike many wooden puzzle models that entertain the builder during construction, but are only for looking at while collecting dust later, this particular model with it's clever elevators and spiralling ball races will fascinate for long afterwards.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
