Almost like OEM, with one exception
I made sure that before I ordered this product the dimensions were consistent with the original. The fit was perfect, snapped on the back cover and pushed the on button and nothing, no power. I thought that maybe I needed to hit the reset, so I did that with a paper clip. Still nothing. I put back the old filter and the unit turned on. Ok what is going on? I heard this clicking when I removed the filter and then put it back in. But when I put in this compatible, I wasn't hearing the clicking. There is this metal part at the bottom of the unit that depresses when the filter is replaced, but it wasn't doing it with the compatible. I put some tape on this metal part and made it depress, replaced the filter, and the unit turned on. Aside from putting on this tape on the metal thing to activate the unit, the filter appears to be working just fine. I compared both filters side by side and to me, they looked identical, except this compatible would not depress the metal clip.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Top notch unit in many ways!
I originally bought two of these units one for upstairs and one for down. They were heaven sent keep the air clean so my husband could breath better in his last days at home. Shortly after his death there was a really BAD FIRE in Napa Valley were I live and it spread quickly and hot and did a lot of damage. Thru out the counties and state. The air quality was offal and a lot of the people were evacuated. Luckily my condo sets in the belly of the valley so I did not have to leave but the air quality was so bad we had to wear masks at all times. Well, back to your question, with both of the filters on high and the Germgardian bulb on, you could barely till that there was this bad smoke issue, unless you stepped out side. Several of my friends and neighbors ended up ordering there own. For the neighbor's that didn't the inside of their homes smelled for weeks and several paid for professional clears to come in. I always have backup filters and bulbs so, all I had to do is change the filter once. One of my neighbors that has asthma had her 's overnighted and with in 12 hours the condo up and downstairs was clear enough so she could get a good nights sleep without constantly coughing. I bless the Lord for saving us but I am so grateful that I had these air cleaners and back up filters on hand because there was gray soot everywhere, but in my home!!!! :)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works but needs a slight tweak for the AC5250PT
The filter is great and works very well. However, it does need a little tweak for the AC5250PT (which is part of the AC5000 Series). There's a small metal switch/piece on the GermGuardian itself that gets pushed down by the filter in order for the device to turn on. The filter has a sturdy piece of cardboard or so to push that button down but it's not placed in the right spot. So, I had to cut out and put a small piece of cardboard under the filter to help push that button down. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!
Does a great job!! I started using it in the evening and by the next afternoon when the sun was shining in you would normally see a lot of dust particles flying around and after a half a day in use. They were all gone and I mean all gone. Had 2 air purifiers going in the 2 rooms next to the one i was sitting in. Those 2 air purifiers weren’t doing what this one does. Just somethings I wish I knew
The product fits perfectly in to the Air Purifier, good thing. Just somethings I could have been informed are that the black thing doesn't come off like the original and the product is delivered wrapped around some thin plastic bag. The only thing that is protecting the filter is the box that is contained in.
