Very bright, very white light
This fixture is rated the same as a 75 watt incandescent bulb and can be dimmed (with a separately purchased dimmer switch). Few of us think about how truly bright a 75 watt bulb is when you look directly at the bulb - and don't have a lampshade or other "filter" between the source of the light and your eye. I was surprised by the strong light from this fixture and found that I needed to invest in dimmer switches for each of the places where I installed it. Even then, with the switch dimmed as much as it will "dim", I'm finding the amount of light in my application (a residential hallway serving bedrooms at the back of the house) is a bit more than I'd prefer. I'll come up with some way to further obscure the output some more but I'm still glad I got these lights despite my little frustration. Big lighting for the price.
