boyuu a10 initial impressions
only been running for a few hours , to start with place the amp in location , make all connections apart from the power lead , then plug in valves carefully , the valve sockets are keyed and of high quality to prevent any errors , once thats all done connect the mains lead and with volume all the way down power it up ,,you will notice there are no odd burning smells or other odours that some cheep tube amps have , when first powered keep at medium to low volume for 5 minutes , The amp will take time for the sound to open up , it will sound congested and poor for the first hour but this will change dramatically as it all wakens up . although its intended as a small desktop amp i have been running 92db efficient floor standing speakers with mine and i can tell you its a little marvel ,, it is nicely voiced with great detail and no nasties such as hash treble or shouty mid band , bass is very even handed with no artificial bump in the upper bass . separation is excellent and it actually brings out backing instruments that a £750 solid state amp from denon misses completely , in fact the denon sounds a bit foggy by comparison although the little boyuu cant match the bass drive of the denon it actually is more tuneful and even handed in the lower registers . this little amp is not for pounding techno at party levels but it plays everything with aplomb . the fit and finish is quite stunning at the price . obviously you cant expect such a cheap amp to match a £1000 tube amp but as i mentioned it sees off a £750 denon amp in so many ways i can only give the Boyuu and Douk mall 5 stars and a huge thumbs up , even as i type this the sound is still opening up farther . love itVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Looks great and with a great sound to match!
Not as loud or powerful and not quite the finesse of my Yamaha AS1100 amp solid state but that costs 3 times as much.Has no problem driving either Monitor Audio Bronze 2 bookshelfs or Tannoy XT8 floorstanders both rated 90db.Definitely recommended.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Absolutely AMAZING, for the price
This is a serious bit of kit, especially for a person who loves vinyl/records. It's the best amp you can get without spending over £1000. complimented with some Wharfedale speakers and Projects turntable this beautiful looking and sounding amp really ticks every box that you need. Superb buy
This amp Is great value for money. The build quality is superb. I have changed the tubes It came with for a quintet of vintage Mullard tubes and the sound is absolutely magical. All the valves without the inflated ‘audiophile’ price tag.
Was not sure what to expect from a valve amp costing just over £300, after contecting speakers and turntable (project debut) plugging in to mains switched it on for valves to warm up. As mentioned in other review new valves need a break in period, I am not doing a critical listen for a few more hours. Initial impressions however are good. Listening to Cocteau twins Frazier’s voices sizzles with a clarity missing from solid state amps, similarly Guthrie’s jangly reverberated guitar parts have a spotlight on them that reveals the nature of the instrument being played. Projecting the multilayered parts across the stereo image with definition that’s again is surprising. It deals with individual threads better than my previous £1000 solid state amp. Mine is the newer version with 12w per channel, with 90db sensitivity bronze 2 stand-mounters it plays loud enough for the Mrs to complain about the volume. Very impressed so far.
