Too flimsy piece of junk
The plastic hose connector fractured immediately upon light hand tightening without tools. I had to spend another $10 at the hardware store replacing these parts. Also, the float mechanism was installed upside down, and needed adjustment internally or it would never have worked at all. If you are handy, and like to re-engineer things, and spend more money to get newly purchased equipment to work, then this is the item for you! I used to have to fill the water bowl every time my 2 dobies got a drink, this bowl hooked up easily, but as another reviewer has said it needed the float adjusted inside. That is easy to do and now I just rinse it out in the morning. Hooks up to a garden hose or similar supply and takes care of itself from there. This is sort of cheaply made but for the price you can not expect extreme quality. For the price it is very reasonable for a low budget answer to keeping fresh water available for pets that are outdoors during the day. Great late night impulse buy
This automatic waterer was an impulse buy, yet I have been wonderfully satisfied with my purchase. I live out in west Texas and we are in the middle of an above average heat index this summer. I was always having to refill the water bowl due to my dogs drinking habits, as well as the extreme evaporation. After the simple installation, I have yet to have to add water or do any maintenance on this waterer. My only concern is that since the connections are plastic I don't want to tighten the hose too much for fear of cracking the connection; however, I tightened as much as I dared and no leaks thus far.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
