Silent Sam
This chain is silent in transmission. It shifts silently and quickly, both up and down the rear cogs. As a six speed chain, it is designed for a single chain-wheel crank set. It fitted the circuit perfectly. I have one severe criticism of the "false link" chain connector supplied with my example. It was badly made and could not be inserted into the chain ends without aggressive modification. I used a hammer and chisel on a flat, hard surface to change the profile of the pinned plate. I do not believe this was a genuine Shimano part. See photo. It doesn’t resemble anything in the Shimano range. I might buy a pair of the correct connectors, fit one and stow the spare inside the handle bar.

Good quality but some reservations.
Good quality chain with problems. Quick link which is a Shimano idea was very difficult to install. I ended up leaving it out and used my riveter to join the chain. Also, the supplier did not process the order as promptly as I would expect even though I elected to use premium post (extra cost of course). It was posted 3 days after order placement. Decent high quality chain
It is a shame the Shimano do not supply a reusable quick link for these chains, they either come with a pin or one time usable link. Sram do market a suitable link. Otherwise, these are generally very decent chains that last well and change well. I am sure these will be the same standard, I have yet to use of course.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Peace Restored
Had only just fit a KMC chain and a Shimano Cassette... But it was noisy . The HG71 chain does not look as impressive as the KMC and the Quicklink is a pain compared to the KMC Missing Link...
