    Surefire 6P Original

Ok, so everyone knows Surefire builds some nice lights, right? Well, this one is no exception. This is the older incandescent style though. So, if you're expecting it too be super bright you'll be disappointed. Incandescent bulbs are also more susceptible to getting damaged by impact, recoil, etc. It's decent as it comes, but nothing spectacular. It is however, a very high quality piece of equipment in terms of build quality, feel, and durability. It also has the push to activate momentary, and twist to activate constant on, tailcap. I prefer this to the clicky style tailcap because it won't allow me to accidentally activate constant on when I don't want it. I bought this light because I found it for less than $40 shipped. I also had plans to upgrade it with a Malkoff drop in, which cost a little over $40. So, for a little over $90 I ended up with the quality of a Surefire light, with the durability and 320 lumens of the Malkoff, which has excellent throw and spill for my application (weapon light). In my mind, this combo gave me a better cost/benefit ratio than the newer Surefire LED lights, or most other proven lights currently on the market. I like this setup enough that I plan to buy a couple more, along with the Malkoff drop ins, just to have as general purpose flashlights.

Great light, the three bulbs fit some other brands body.

A durable flashlight. The only trouble was that the three extra bulbs weren't for this light.

  • Best light I ever carried

I carried a multitude of hand torches over the past 30+ years in law enforcement. They are without a doubt one of the best lights I ever carried. I’ve used Streamlight, Maglite, Surefire and many other want to be’s. This light was great when it hit the market and with certain LED upgrades over time and now rechargeable batteries it’s kept up with the best of them.

  • Superb!

This is the light that paved the way for all of the current generation lights. It literally revolutionized the world of hand held flashlights. Having said that, they are now obsolete in factory form. However, when fitted with Malkoff heads they are absolutely superb and can be configured for multiple applications. I despise click type tail caps, and (Thank GOD!) these lights do not have them. Super simple to operate under stress - push the button, they are on. Release the button, they are off. Twist the tailcap to the left to lock it in off position, twist it to the right and the light stays on. Everything that a flashlight should be!

  • Classic Light

I've got both high end LED and Incandescent lights and still prefer a good incandescent. This SureFire 6P and the original Streamlight Stinger are my favorite, smaller lights. I live in the country and an LED light, because of it's blue cast, I guess, reflects off fog or mist and doesn't seem to "reach" out there as well as a good incandescent. LEDs have their place for sure but it's still a shame that people have forgotten how useful a quality Incandescent can be.

  • Great little flashlight

I've owned and used a Surefire P6 for years and just bought a nos example on eBay for my wife's use. These flashlights are very rugged and at 65 lumens have more than enough light for practical purposes. I love mine and wouldn't be without it. Time to buy another to keep as a spare?

  • tons of possibilities

I always wanted one of these classics that have so many options available. I have since upgraded the light with rechargeable 16650 batteries, a triple LED drop-in, a clicky switch and pocket clip. Good stuff. Wish I had bought one years ago.

  • Not super high power, but works well. Surfire quality.

I love this flashlight. Super quality, robust and tough. I bought a 1,000 lum light for this for only $8. Talk about a light saber! Botach is fantastic and has super fast, free shipping. I will buy from them again for sure.

  • Keeper flashlight

I bought two other name brand high dollar flashlights attempting to own my last best lamp. I need a good light. It can make all the difference. I quickly learned that multiple tap lights in trying circumstances are a pain. This SUREFIRE 6P ORIGINAL is everything that i wanted and was just as advertised by the seller. Came in two days. Excellent

  • Surefire 6P Original

The Surefire 6P original is the design that started it all, it was the industry's first high-output compact flashlight. Today with the advent of extremely high-lumen LED technology lights, the 6P may not seem like much of a light, but don't let its seemingly low output level fool you, this is a solid light that you can depend upon. The light is built well, and dependable. Colleagues of mind have had 6P lights, some since the very first iterations were built over 20 years ago. From the desert to the jungle, they have never let anyone down, just carry a few extra batteries and a spare lamp assembly in one of the SC-series carriers, and you'll never have to worry about being in the dark. Buy one while you can, no flashlight collection is complete without one of these legendary pieces!
