Kills crabgrass weedlings
I was a little late applying Halts. When the forsythia blooms is the best time for pre-emergent crabgrass killer. The crabgrass had germinated and had about 3/8" leaves. This was just as the dandelions' seed heads emerged. But there was still time and I applied the granules by hand somewhat thickly to the bare patches where crabgrass had grown last August. Friday, May18 I looked for any growth and found hardly any, except a tiny patch which I had missed last week. I found some more crabgrass seedling growing in some overturned sod pieces. I applied Halts to them last night. I'll see what survives in a few days.
addendum: Sunday May 20, The little weedlings are mostly dead on the pieces of sod. It rained hard after I applied the Halts but the granules are still visible. I guess they are still gassing off.
