This grinder is of the 'burr' type. It looks really smart. Not pretty. But smart. It is well made, solid and heavy in a reassuring way. You can adjust the grind from a light dust to very course. And you can vary the quantity to suit the coffee maker you are using. Two cups for an espresso maker. Six cups for a cafetière. This way, you ensure maximum freshness by grinding only what you need. OK all good so far. I've had three of these in six years. 'Eye, there's the rub'. They don't last, I'm afraid. I use mine once a day and most days. Say 340 times a year. So that's 680 times before it stops working. Or around 5p per grind. Then the grind becomes too course. I've tried cleaning it. I've tried fiddling with it. I've tried shouting at it. I've even tried praying for it. Nothing works. But it's so good before it quits, that I buy another the same. I'd still recommend these grinders over all others I've tried. Just don't expect longevity. Read full review

It grinds coffee well, and there is a good range of grinds available- from fine to coarse. However the lowest grind duration setting is two cups, which is too much. There are two ways around this if, like me, you grind fresh for each cup. You can either start counting when it starts and then turn it off when it has ground enough (before it stops) or grind a larger amount of coffee with a coarser grind. These are both unsatisfactory. I miss my Bodum burr grinder...which I destroyed,

Looks nice and sits well in the corner, issues with ease of cleaning as it does not come with brush and the location of the grind outlet results in some mess on my workspace. Also the box shape of the collector is awkward to empty. Good grind and easy to hack via youtube tutorial. Reasonably consistent grind, for the price, use it for grinding for my aeropress and i would suggest dialing a setting above for cups, i.e pick 4 for 2 cups

Excellent value for money. Gives a good range of grinding size. Most others that have an adjustable setting cost quite a lot more money, and without this feature (almost all cheaper grinders!) the grain size is not really fine enough for an espresso machine. It also measures out the right amount for your immediate needs. Early days, so can't comment on specific product longevity, although all our other Delonghi household items have performed and lasted very well... I would highly recommend.

Never had a coffee grinder before, so not got any experience with these things. However, it has a nice range of adjustment, and it looks pretty good. The 2 cup setting really is about two cups worth. Maybe not the machine to get if you're going to be grinding at 2am. From what I can see of other coffee grinders, it's really not any cleaner or dirtier. They all pretty much throw a little dust around. Would I buy the same one again, yes I would!
