    13pc high speed bits

I had to drill a peace of 2mm very hard peace of steel and I had already messed up my drill bits anyway I got this set of drill bits and so fare all is well.

  • Most critical review

    A great starter set.

I bought these as a starter set of drills suitable for wood, plastic and metal for a chap who is just starting out in the world of DIY having just moved into his first house ... The title says "Hammer" drill bit set which is wrong ... You don't use hammer action when drilling metal and I certainly wouldn't use hammer on wood or plastic either ... Hence the three stars ... However if you ignore the word "Hammer", I would recommend the set as a great starting point, perhaps with individual drill bits replaced with better ones when they eventually go blunt ... Nice to have the bits all together in a proper (easy to carry) metal case ... The value is certainly OK and the quality looks to be OK ... The case is very good ... So, all in all, I would recommend this item.

  • Happy purchase

Only used one drill out of the set so cannot comment on long term use. However the drills appear sharp and went through shed door hinge and shed door very easily. Should have bought these years ago rather than struggling with old drills for odd jobs. Initial thoughts are these are excellent value for money.

  • Thrilling Drilling

Looks Right for the job, not yet undertaken, but confident of success in due course. No point in having a drill without bits to hand, compactly and securely stored Ready to go!

  • Good quality but only cobalt coated not hssco

Cheap drills for the money good but they are only coated in cobalt rather than higher quality drills like heller that have 8% cobalt in the steel, still good for the money but do blunt like standard hss drills

  • HSS Drills for the harder metals

Works better than the titanium HSS drills, as it cuts through hardened metal like bed frames with ease. Not as bigger range in the larger bits in the Titanium drill bit series, but having smaller sizes really gets the drill started on any surface. For the price it is an excellent product.

  • Good for small jobs

Bought to drill out a snapped hardened steel bolt , with the description saying suitable for hardened steel. Not upto the job, good for smaller jobs which I have used them for but not adequate for the job I wanted

  • Good value coated cobalt drills

A good range of Cobalt COATED drills in carry case for £6. It should be noted there are two distinct types of cobalt drill. Firstly, those COATED with cobalt. Once they need sharpening the hard thin cobalt coating will be removed. The other type is SOLID cobalt 5% that can be resharpened a number of times. They will be far more expensive around £20- £30 dependent on the number and size of drills in the box.

  • Cobalt drills

These drills are excellent quality and particularly necessary for stainless steel or cast iron. Remember to use a slow speed with cast iron as this material is brutally hard and can shatter the bit.
