Magic brush takes out the mats and knots effortlessly, Honest!
My Black Labrador always has a heavy winter coat, even though I live in Florida. She sheds like crazy, but due to the very heavy undercoat that Labs have, it takes forever to get the winter coat brushed off. The house looks like it was carpeted in dog fur, a few hours after I have vacuumed. This Dematting and Grooming rake makes short work of the heavy mats of winter coat, and it's amazing how much fur it actually strips off the dog. The best thing, is she likes it a lot more then those wire type brushes that irritate her skin. This rake has rounded edges on both side that just glide over her skin. She will sit still much longer now that I'm using this amazing brush. (She's 11 and kind of Grumpy). It has two sides, a course side to take out the big mats, then you can flip it over to "fine tune" her coat with the smaller side. Each tooth of the rake has a razor sharp inner edge, on the inside of the hooked tooth, where it can't hook the dog's skin. Essential for dogs with an undercoat
I have two Keeshonden, and when they blow their coats at the same time the fur flying around is ridiculous. A Keeshond has a double coat, like a Husky or Pomeranian, so you really need to get at the undercoat and pull out the tangled and loose stuff. The undercoat gets matted easily, as well. This dematting comb is perfect for getting the undercoat cleaned out. For tougher mats, I use a rocking motion with the tool and hold the fur close to the dog's skin so it doesn't pull so much. This thing works like magic!
Bought this for my 160 lb Great Pyrenees. He spends most of his days protecting our livestock and comes in at night. He was shedding so bad that my house was covered in white fluff! Good way to get some of those difficult tangles!
