  • chimney typhoon diy chimney brush

it will go up the chimney with ease and sweeps better than it looks, very good on tight bends and much cheaper than the sweep it pays for its self in one go.and if you follow the instructions and use the poly sheet and tape it all around the edge of your multi fuel stove or any fire place not forgetting to make a small hole in the center of the poly sheet with the first rode and brush through the center and inside before you start, it is really dead easy to use

  • Top Gob

Excellent product, much easier to use that standard chimney brush sets, gets everything out, had a professional chimney sweet come the following week to do the chimney to see how the report would be & all he managed to dislodge was 1 single small chunk, he informed me after putting a camera up that it was (quote) clean as a whistle! It removed a lot more than standard brushes IMO, literally removed every last bit of ash/soot & creosote build up. Only downside is the connectors for the rods which can be a bit fiddly, but make sure you lubricate them before & after use to make it easier, the provided allen key is not the best for connecting/disconnecting the pieces, I got a stubby Phillips screwdriver on the case as that works 100 times better & omits the need of a 3rd arm lol. I would highly recommend this kit & I am a fussy guy!

  • Buckets of soot

Did a brilliant job - 2 buckets of soot from one chimney and 1 from another. There are lots of bends in my chimneys and access is a little tricky through the stoves but the flex in the shaft sections together with the spinning action of the drill meant the head seems to self-centre and it passed through with very little effort. No mad pushing, pulling and jamming. The clean was excellent – I was surprised by the amount of soot and how clear the linings were. The locking buttons are a little fiddley to release but I would rather that than getting the brush stuck up the chimney and they’re still easier than the threaded poles which tend to wedge together!

  • A worthwhile investment

The Restoration Couple on YouTube led me to buy this. It successfully cleaned an old (apparently previously swept a decade or more before and then unused chimney). Lots of soot, mortar, dust and debris came down. We were subsequently able to fit a double walled 5" stainless steel chimney liner quite easily. The chimney steps to the left at a sharp angle but no issues. The dust sheet is a welcome addition to the pack. I have now bought some silicone spray to apply to all the studs on the connectors. Connecting the rods was probably the bit that slowed us down the most. I wonder if I'd lubed them before we started if that would have sped us up? We have soot doors in our little stoves now so we're hoping to utilise the Typhoon for our new chimney liners (at a gentle speed).

  • Buy this save money brilliant!

This is brilliant! Comes with plastic sheet too! We are complete novices and our opening is 9 inches and it did the job. The rods wobble a bit when the drill is on full power, but it all stayed together and was done in 20-30 minutes! We stapled the sheet round make sure the brush is in the fireplace side of the sheet, then attach rod on other side! Does 4-10 inch opening,so does log burner flues too. Really recommend, this was the cheapest we could find with free p&p. Saves money too!

  • The Chimney Sweep is lightweight and well designed

The item is very easy to assemble and use with no fuss. Cleaned my chimney in 30 minutes first time. My chimney is a lined flue from a wood burner surprised the amount of ash i removed it would assure you the Sweep done a good clean.

  • Well worth it.

Bought this for £38 after being quoted £48 for a chimney sweep. Used it once so far, and apart from a couple of small learning curves, ie, need a bigger dust sheet and there is no such thing as too much tape around the fireplace, it was brilliant. Took around 45 minutes from start to finish, used a normal cordless drill on low screwdriver setting, job done. No more overpriced chimney sweep.

  • Cleaning from inside

Very easy to use if cleaning from inside your house fireplace get a foam slab and set it in to stop soot from going all over the place also make a hole in it for the rods i used a old chair foam for the job

  • Easy to use, give it a go.

Overall easy to use. Got one blood blister on my finger clipping two rods together, they're pretty vicious. Can be difficult to release them again but overall a two hour job to clean the chimney (including tidying up) and I've saved money already. I'm sure it'll last for years when dry stored.

  • Easy Sweep

Good quality product easy to use (watched a you tube clip first). The rods are a little finicky at first but better that than to loose. I would certainly recommend Chimney Typhoon.
