Best ball for my game
IMO, the Taylormade 5 layer ball is the best ball for my game. It flies straight and long, has terrific greenside spin and has very good durability. I can usually get at least a couple of rounds out a a ball before switching it out for a fresh one. I've played the Titleist ProV1x left dash, the Srixon Z Star XV, the Bridgestone BX, and the Callaway Crome Soft X. The TP5-X beat them all. The best so far
Hands down the finest golfball I've ever used and I have tried them all. This ball out performs the proV1 in every way. It's longer, spins on short shots and mid irons too! I'm a 5 handicap and can tell you its pretty soft off the putter face as well. My only observation is that the cover perhaps is not as durable as the Titleist, but this 5 piece ball is amazing in windy conditions. Blasting by my golf partners all day and sticking it on the approach. My advice? Forget Callaway chrome, proV1 and others if you wanted a high performance golfball you don't mind replacing more frequently because of wear.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Long off the tee but soft around the greens and doesn't overspin.
I was a Titleist Pro V1X guy for 5+ years and always had a problem overspinning them, sometimes even off the front edge of the green. The TP5X came out and bunch of touring pros switched, and while I realize they get paid to play them, they are not going to switch if it didn't improve their games, at least on some level. Bought sleeve and played them and have been hooked ever since. On well struck ball they stop, but don't overspin. Don't believe all the hype about getting softer and softer balls that go farther and farther. It's all bull. Take the time to hit the balls you're interested in and see how they respond to your swing speed and level of competency. Butter balls are always urethane covers that offer more spin. Distance & Control Friendly!
I was skeptical about this ball, primarily cause I have always been a Titleist ProV1x loyalist! But I like to test other balls to compare! Well, I tried the TP5X ball and was simply surprised at how well this ball performed! It felt soft, controllable, and provided the distance and ball flight that it claims to! Taylor Made's latest 5 piece ball is superior in all aspects. This is a distance ball with great feel and control. A bit better than the #1 ball in several key aspects.
