Easy, quick and cheap with good quality modification for your toys.

It is better than expected for the price. It is still wiggle a bit when folded up but my much more expensive folding stock does the same, so no complain. I modified my M92 AK pistol and still keep it within legal specs. You need a buffer stock castle nut wrench to do it right. I ended up cut 1/2" off my buffer bar to shorten the stock and cover up the extra exposed thread.

Not worth even it’s weight in scrap

JUNK. I have been very pleased with every other UTG product I have purchased. Usually very well priced and very good quality. These, not so much. The aluminum is severely pitted, looks like they compressed some pop cans and spray painted the parts black. Grinder marks everywhere and still doesn’t function. Bought 2 for a couple non buffer system guns and one of the parts has to be pried open with a screwdriver to fold it. These never will make it on a firearm I own. I would be very surprised if it didn’t break off the first time shooting. Save yourself some money and go to Home Depot and get a door hinge. It would probably look better than these piles.

  • Good for the price

This adapter is made for the purpose of folding a buffer tube that doesn't have to function as a buffer tube - for example, dedicated rimfire. It is a chunky, semi-matte finished piece of steel. The adapter screws into anything threaded to accept a buffer tube and there is a thinner than standard castle nut to secure that end. In the middle is a substantial appearing hinge with a "lift up" flange to disengage it from the locked open position and which also serves to cam it into the folded position. At the aft end, there are female threads for a buffer tube, a setscrew at the bottom that locks into the end plate groove of carbine tubes or serves as an anti-rotation device for pistol tubes, and a more standard appearing castle nut. Installation is easy although I noted that the castle nuts would not accept my dedicated castle nut wrench. It took just a little bit of finagling to tighten both nuts. Locktite is very much recommended at both ends. Opening and closing are fairly positive, assisted (and sometimes impeded) by a spring that takes something approaching the strength of Hercules to compress in order to fold the hinge. That's fine by me, I'd rather have too strong than too weak here. When open, there's a little bit of wobble but for the price there's nothing to complain about. Overall, 1 star off for the odd sized castle nuts and the Herculean hinge spring - but on the basis of installation and brief use, I recommend this adapter for range toy use. I wouldn't stake my life on it though.

  • Excellent addition to a .22lr range toy!

This adapter works very well for the little Ruger Charger (pistol version of a 10/22). Positively locks in either open or closed positions, fit and finish seem solid (note that this type of adapter, seemingly regardless of brand/price, will have maybe 1/4" up/down free play with a stock/brace hanging off it, so if you want something that doesn't move at all, avoid this type of hinge mechanism.) With this installed, my Ruger still fits in a backpack (even with the absurd 3-port muzzle brake I've got). May your tacti-cool dreams come true!

  • Well worth if have basic mechanical common sense to rework.

Expected thin material and bad fit got the opposite extreme. Had to drive the pin out and cut three turns from the spring and do a lot of sanding before I had workable function in the collapsed direction. As delivered you’d snap any polymer lower trying to collapse it and probably over time the same on a forged. Either had to whack it ultra hard to get it to lift past the lock or pry with a screw driver. But if willing to put a half hour into it and have basic mechanical common sense really can’t beat this unit.

  • Un-useable me, even on percussion & airsoft!

Bought to shorten rifle or shotgun for easier transport, but unable to find ANY WAY to connect to receivers. FOUND some, but too expensive. Still trying to find any reasonable way to connect in place of standard long gun stocks. Wouldn't even go on my airsoft AR15! Looks like it will not work on any real AR as it won’t allow buffer to work.

  • Cheap, some tweaks, i like it.

AR style yes but wont run with buffer tube damper. Worked for my application. Tad sloppy when locked open, but for 12 buck!!! I ended up drilling and tapping the top of the mount to install a thumb screw to push down on the unit when closed. Took all the slop out. I also was not a fan of the square edges, so I dremeled them round. I am using on a 308 bolt precision rifle so I want it to be solid when open and don't care when folded for transport. Overall with my mod pretty stoked, see how it holds up to 308 recoil. :-)

  • Has some flaws, but it's cheap!

Pros: It works pretty well. Its 4 - 10 time cheaper than other options available. It does have a little bit of up and down play to it. It can be fixed if you are creative. It's also clunky looking. It would probably wear out after a lot of regular use...I actually just opted to buy a nicer one (mdt) because I decided it would be worth it for me.

  • As long as you don't intend to put it on an ar

Considering a functional version for an ar15 is hundreds of dollars, too get one that functions so well on a non ar platform at such a low price is a very good deal. It will not work on an ar. Not even a 22 that doesn't use the buffet spring. You cannot pull the charging handle back closed or open.

  • Great for the price.

I put it on my Ruger charger 10/22 along with a pistol buffer tube and arm brace. Makes it easier to carry and store in my safe. When folded it lightly locks into place and a slight upward pull and it releases it. For $12.00 it gets a A+.
