Love this saw!!! Had the 16" version of the same model and was very happy with it, but it was stolen, so decided to go a little bigger. Now, it lives in the house. This saw is tough and powerful but lightweight and very easy to use ...I'm a 75 year old granny, and We zipped right through a whole pile of long ago fallen oak branches, Rock hard and big oak branches!.. Love the self sharpening! At my age, much appreciate the safety factor of instant off or on, and the brake being very easy to reach, even with my small hands. Curious too ...this 18" saw's actual cutting length is two inches longer than my late husband's big name brand, so called 18" saws! Can't recommend high enough. Yes, the cord is limiting - don't know if you could run this off a portable generator, but I can haul logs near a power source, and it runs strong on a 100' heavy duty extension cord.Read full review

I've had it for about 3 months. Initially, it worked fine. However, after a short time, it started leaking oil, slowly at first, then much more rapidly. Now if I fill with oil, after a few minutes use, most of the oil is gone. I do not know if it only leaks while being used, or if it also leaks when not used. On sitting, oil is either leaking from the oil reservoir/line/pump, or oil that has collected inside the body of the saw leaks out, or both of these things occur. I have to store inside a plastic bag to avoid getting oil everywhere. I really liked the self-sharpening feature, which works well. I really need to use this saw because I have a large amount of wood to process. Unfortunately, the saw is unusable.

This is my second purchase of this item. I love the way it handles and cuts great. Plus you have the self sharpening feature that is worth its weight in gold. I know a lot of people do not like having a cord to drag around but it is not a deterrent for me. I have many chain saws and I would compare this saw with my Stihl saws as far as cutting ability. Plus they are extremely quiet. Do not need the sound suppressors with this tool.

This my 2nd electric chain saw (1st one was Black & Decker). The Oregon CS1500 is so much better. The 18" bar, no oil leaking, plenty of power, and the self sharpening feature. I've only used it on one tree so far, so I'm not 100% sure of the sharpening system but I used it a couple of times and it continued to cut well with decent size saw dust. Well made and a fair price........yes I would buy it again.

Love this electric chainsaw. It is very easy to use, no pulling. And, it is powerful for an electric chainsaw. I love the 18 inch bar and chain that allows me to trim or to cut through the trunk of a larger tree. I hav not used the chain sharpening feature yet, but that seems to be a plus since having a chain sharpened is costly and time consumining. Thanks, Kip Godwin
