Bought this as I was pretty sure my sharpening technique wasn't doing my chains much good, meaning I was replacing them well before they were actually spent (as I could not really get them sharp again). Great purchase (at about £25 or so) which really helped me get a good consistent result with chains, even in the field (ie away from the house). Pretty easy to use too if you follow the arrows and the vids on YouTube too plus ensure you brush out the files regularly and also change them when it feels like they are not biting any longer.....you get the feel as you get more experienced with it. All in all, well worth the money to get much more out of each chain (until the teeth are virtually gone - which I never managed before).

There are enough YouTube videos describing this tool – just search for "best chainsaw sharpener" (like I did). It's quick and easy to use, sharpens the tooth and adjusts the raker at the same time, it's inscribed with the angle of attack and the direction of travel, comes with three nice sharp files, and is small and light enough to keep in your toolkit. Shop around and you should be able to buy (new) for under £30. I wish I'd discovered this tool years ago!

A few stokes of each tooth does the whole job in one. Just like using a file Gide sharpens tooth well and sets depth gauge in same pass. Found it easy to use with good results works best if bar is held more securely good piece of kit looks well made so I would expect it to last well . Just started using but very pleased so far.

It's not a gimic. Makes chain sharpening quick easy and consistent. Files the teeth and rankers at the same time. It's compact as well so you can take it on the job and keep the saw tip top if it's losing its edge late in the day.

I have 3 of these easy files a very good and handy job. The saw is sharpened and depth gauges lowered at same time. You can use it in the field as well so no power supply needed as it's a hand tool
