Very disappointed with Maypole. Maypole Part MP128M
There are no mechanical instructions, and only a pin wiring diagram. I do not know what the assembly tool is, unless that is the green cap, which to me, is a sealing cap to keep the elements out when not plugged into a socket, not an assembly tool. I use the green cap on my other plug for that reason. I trail assembled the pin contacts part to the main body but once it clicks into place, it cannot be removed, without chewing up the plastic. I have used Maypole products before but I note this one is made in Italy. Cheap poor design. Garbage, and has been thrown out. What a waste of money. Brilliant kit
I had been using an adaptor to couple up my car and trailer but the adaptor gave up and I found this. It was very easy to fit and it comes with the bonus that the assembly tool can be attached to the trailer to provide a waterproof, lock-in, docking point for the plug when it is not in use. So simple?
I kept reading about the very difficult job of wiring up such a plug and realigning it. A 'green' positioning piece was referred to and some reports made it sound onerous, to say the least. Well, this plug needed no such thing. It was well marked with pin numbers and a diagram explained what every contact did. It went together very easily and there was no alignment needed.
