Excellent bollard
This parking bollard (or in my case, anti-parking bollard) is an excellent item which is well-made from thick steel with a very thick surface coat of paint/powder coat. The design is good in that, unlike other parking posts on eBay and elsewhere, there is no exposed nut at the hinge which can simply be unscrewed, the pivot bolt removed and the post itself removed in under 2 minutes. This parking post has a welded pivot. The bolt assembly to lock the post is simple but effective. The lock which came with the post is a very good quality disc lock. I prefer a separate padlock like this because sometimes people will vandalise a lock by squirting superglue in it. If one has bought a post with an integral lock, the post is effectively ruined as replacement locks are never available. At least with this post, the padlock can be ground off or burned off and a replacement padlock used. The concrete block end is a healthy 250mm long with large diameter side spikes to stop the post being pulled up out of the concrete easily. This post will not stop a ram-raider who doesn’t care if they wreck a vehicle but it will certainly stop anyone from unauthorised parking. I’d say that, if set in a nice block of concrete, like I’ve done, then it would cause serious damage to the underside of a car. It’s definitely a deterrent. Does what it says on the tin.
1. There are no bolts required. so nobody could simply remove this post. 2. This product has a larger section of post, than others 3. The lock has quality about it, so much that recently when walking past new beach hut structures that are concrete constructed, the padlocks on these entrance doors were the same. 4. The post would take a knock, but because of design, the knock would need to be very severe as it would only push concrete and post out of the ground, due to the posts strength and design.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
