Easier to load.
Ordered for loading mobility scooters, the ramps are only just wide enough, tricky to get scooters in & out of vehicle, however, they are lighter & easier to handle than previous folding ramp. Once retracted , easy to put in vehicle with two scooters loaded . You have to be very precise pushing scooters in & out , but overall I think it will become easier with practice. The ramps were probably designed forwheelchairs, as the ridge on the edges makes them a bit narrow for our purpose , slightly wider , would of given 5 stars. Good ramps, but not for mobility scooters
The ramps are great but, unfortunately they are not great for getting a mobility scooter in and out of the car. Probably something I’m doing wrong but they slip as I try and push the scooter up. These ramps are great! They aren’t too heavy and being telescopic, will fit in the boot of the car. They are strong and easily supported moving my Mum in her wheelchair over a flight of three steps. The angle was quite steep so my sister and I worked together to make sure Mum was safe. The ramps stayed in place perfectly. My Mum was able to visit m aunt for the first time i in many months. Stronger than they look. May need a little work to fit different vehicles.
When I received this item I was unsure whether they would take the weight of my scooter (100kg), but I was pleasantly surprised to find it did. I did have a couple of small problems, the angle of the bend that goes over the bumper needed to be greater and this was overcome quite easily. The other problem I had was that the frame of the scooter did catch the top end of the ramp where the side upstand is. I have looked at this and feel that that part of the upstand can be cut at an angle to give more room between the rams and the scooter.
