Read it, it's a revolution.
All last summer I was trying to get on my weight losing regime without success. While reading her book. Within 24 to 48 hours, I was behaving myself. Importantly I now understand the hows and whys of losing weight. Which the 40 years before I never understood, so you'd my weight. 3 stone down, 2 to go. Changed my breakfast forever
Changed my breakfast forever. Learning that this is the worst time of day to eat naked carbs; cereal, toast or porridge. Commercial advertising has sent us down this dangerous route to start the day and we can not recover from it. I have a Libre continuous glucose monitor and can see my blood sugar shoot up after a breakfast of porridge made with just water and salt. Jessie is a biochemist and shows how. I now have little gem lettuce in my fridge for first breakfast - I have become a Hobbit and have a second breakfast 15 minutes later of yoghurt and fruit. I read the whole thing and I bought copies for my sister and cousin - one for weight loss and one for diabetes. Jessie has graphs and recipes but this is a compelling read. The only point where I differ from her is that I am not convinced that having a teaspoon of vinegar in water helps - stomach acid has a low pH anyway. Overall - eat loads of fruit and veg and far fewer processed foods.
