Good Practice Amp
The amplifier gives you usable voices with plenty of effects to add to them. I am a Blackstar Valve amp owner and purchased the ID Core V2 to use in my study, The voices are very usable if a little sterile compared to a valve amp.This does not come as a surprise and if you are not a valve user , you would not notice. There is still an issue using the insider software with Apple High Sierra software on a MAC.This has apparently been an issue for a while . Blackstar may be waiting for Apple to issue their latest upgrade in the Autumn. Other than that, it is a highly usable amp for practice,jamming and beginners. Giant little amp. Impressive cleans for what it is. A keeper.
At night I plug the headphone out into a small mixer so I can hear pc audio and this amp via headphones. By day it easily holds its own against a 20watt hifi in a small room...with lots of volume to spare. The photo gives an impression of its size. I'd just been playing along with JJ Cale and Eric thingy (from a Youtube video). The settings were perfect for that except for the photo I'd turned the Rotel amp down as the next video was considerably louder. I expected this amp to be satisfactory having read reviews...it exceeds my expectations. It gives the impression of a valve amp and (I mainly use the clean channels) with the gain turned up it responds convincingly to pick attack -soft to heavy. 40 years ago I played through a 100 watt valve amp...this little Blackstar amp is just as rewarding. More than enough volume to keep up with a comfortably loud piece of music in the usual home environment.

Very good clean tones
The amp is very versatile and the stereo feature makes a big difference for the reverb and other effects. It sounds as a bigger size (and quality) amp. The software maybe is not as versatile as it is advertised, you can download many presets but they are just different combinations of the amp's pots, so don't expect new type of effects.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Simply stunning little amp - great sound, great features and great value.
This is a tremendous little amp! It's only 20W but that is plenty for most practice sessions at home or in a small hall or even a studio - it has plenty of ooomph! It is plenty loud enough to rattle your windows or annoy the neighbours if that's your thing! The amp produces an output which is similar to a true valve sound - very enjoyable. For such a tiny unit it has a range of effects that enable the player to try and emulate others or create their own sound. The fact that it has these effects is a boon to both a novice, a pro or if you're on a tight budget as it saves you having to buy additional effects separately - simply great value.
