Super saw
I had already read reviews on this tool and have other 18 volt XR tools and batteries, so was confident it would be a sound investment. Have only used it a couple of times to date, trimming oak doors to size, and it handles the job in hand with ease, makes clean accurate cuts and has sufficient power not to bog down if you don't rush the cut, also far better than corded saws because you don't have the cable catching up being dragged along behind the saw. Slightly heavier than expected but not a bad thing, more a reflection of the solid and robust build quality, note that these Dewalt tools are made in China but remain top quality under Dewalt's strict quality control and supervision. Low weight adds versatility.
Not being tethered by a cable is a huge working advantage, especially with a product of De Walt quality. With a battery of suitable size & power it easily cuts through 2" timber and it is a pleasure to use. It is a great addition to my De Walt armoury with inter-changeable batteries. Great performance and quality
Surprisingly powerful. I managed to make 6 cuts of 62cm 38mm-thick chipboard worktop and still had 1 LED's-worth of a small 2.0Ah battery remaining. The blade has to be spinning freely on startup so sometimes it's tricky to stop and then start again when you're in the middle of a cut, so the lesson is...don't stop mid-cut! Highly recommended product. I can't comment on how better or worse they are than budget tools...this is the first battery circular saw I've tried. But experience with other DeWalt battery devices has taught me there's little point in skimping if you want reliability and high performance.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
