THEY ARE NOT FIT FOR PUPOSE DUE TO A HOPELESS DESIGN. • it is not possible to set them: the door will not stay open but falls shut when placed as instructed with the rear end elevated. So I elevated them some more until they would just stay open - but • as soon as the front of the trap is touched the door shuts - with the mouse still OUTSIDE . • they are too flimsy. The mice attacked the traps, tried to eat into them, and moved them from between 2 bricks each night. • they are not big enough. The mice are about 7 cm long plus a tail that is longer than that. therfore they would not fit into the trap - the tail would hang out and they could escape backwards - if they ever got that far! I now have better live traps and have caught 2 mice the first night. The BIG CHEESE traps are useless and should be withdrawn.Read full review

It closes by itself with the slightest vibration or uneven surface. I know I have a mouse in the kitchen drawers and despite having 2 of these in position, one in the drawer (emptied) and one behind the drawers, nothing got caught. I tried putting peanut butter in and the bait got eaten but nothing caught. They are as useless as their snap traps. Waste of money. Meanwhile I'm forever cleaning, calling the cats rude names because they sleep in the kitchen and throwing away bags of pasta because the mouse has opened them. Frankly, the idea that a small furry animal is sticking 2 fingers up at me, poking his tongue out and jeering, makes me feel completely inadequate. I'm going to have to withhold all 'kitty yum yums' until those idle cats unsheathe their claws and get mousing! On second thought, I'll just buy a better mouse trap. If I upset the cats, they puke in my slippers during the night and when I put my feet into them when only half awake in the morning as I get out of bed, the cold lumpy cat puke squidges up between my toes and the whole day never improves as I try to hop down the stairs then hop through the house, to the downstairs bathroom without dropping any of it. I just want to have no mice in my pasta draw. It's not too much to blooming ask for is it?Read full review

I have used these for many years. Very easy to set. They are excellent for catching the mice without harming them. When I catch any mouse it is always liberated back into the wild away from the house.
