The Magnaclean is the benchmark against which all other filters should be compared.
I am an installer. I was fortunate enough to select the Magnaclean as my first magnetic filter in about 2010. They have proved to be far better than other makes because it provides for two essential requirements 1) to remove all sizes of debris & magnetite and 2) a means of easily dosing the system with inhibitor.
(2) is often a secondary feature of other makes. For me it's a key feature.
I have inspected other makes at the fares and don't feel they meet the basic requirements of a filter as benchmarked by the Magnaclean.
The micro is a convenient size for a small system with a boiler which has a heat exchanger which is not cast iron. With a cast iron heat exchanger, I would say use the standard size product.
I continue to service the filters installed a decade ago and the only thing to watch is the seals may become embedded with debris, so it's wise to have a spare o-ring set in the spares box.
The photo below is of the standard size filter.
