Know Hamlet and be ok with Grainy picture
This film was created by the same writer of Shakespeare In Love. However, the comedy is slightly darker and more introspective. Maybe a lot darker and introspective. Tim Roth and Gary Oldman play the title characters while Richard Dreyfuss plays and actor who is not acting. It will be helpful to the viewer to have a basic knowledge of the plot of Hamlet and an open mind about breaking the line between creator and creation. This is an formalist art piece at its heart but also very funny. The Blue Ray has not been remastered so the grain of stock footage quality remains. Don't look for crisp images on your large flat screen. Instead expect crisp dialog and philosophical banter that will make you laugh and ponder the depth of the bards work.
