I Like It More Than Truth or Dare
Wow! This is a great documentary featuring the male dancers who toured and performed with Madonna on her 1990 blond ambition tour. These men are an anomaly, for back-up dancers aren't usually a big draw, but the talent of these men on this tour gave them 15 minutes of fame. It's sort of a "where of they now"--presenting where the dancers live, insight on their lives since working with Madonna and later showing all the guys reuniting at a dinner. Some things were shocking and sad about three of the dancers--one died of AIDS shortly after the Madonna tour & two live with HIV. One dancer who stayed in the industry and has continued success as a dancer/choreographer is Kevin Stea (who was my favorite)! The documentary was great for getting to know these guys better. The handlers of this documentary were not intrusive and aggressive with their interview footage of these dancers. Yet, you can tell by the dancer's body language that they were comfortable being informative and revealing about their years after working with Madonna. These men are really gay icons, being the few decades ago who were presented to the mainstream via 'Truth or Dare' and on the Blond Ambition Tour. Being gay was very tough in the 80s/90s with the stigma of AIDS--along with the empathy and getting to understand those with same sex attraction. These men were the first openly gay men many guys seen, which helped to make them more comfortable and accepting of themselves--Resulting in demonstrating what impact these dancers had on young gay men to be who they are. This is a great documentary that compliments 'Truth or Dare'. It's a great addition to any Madonna collection.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
