As the village gets ready for the Bishop's visit, the twins get overly-excited at the prospect of ringing the special peal of bells created for the occasion and start bullying the other bell ringers, forcing them to rehearse and rehearse . . . so much so that Joseph Kennell, a retired lawyer, yells at the sisters that he 'felt like killing them'! • Cracking good read. It'll make you smile. Very relaxing yet gripping tale.

I can't stand whodunnits. And yet I have read around 20 of M.C.Beaton's books. They are funny, compelling, you are into the story from the first page and you'll get to know her and the main characters in all her stories. Agatha Raisin gets into all kinds of scrapes, falls in love regularly with unsuitable men, puts herself in danger and is rescued and given tea and comfort by Mrs Bloxby the vicar's wife. With the long dark days nearly upon us, a nice hot cuppa, wrapped in a duvet, a few biscuits, and settle down with Agatha Raisin is my idea of heaven

  • Not up to the mark

It does not feel like it had been written by the author. More like it had been written by a TV scupt group. Very disappointing.
