This retooled model of the London Brighton & South Coast Railway Terrier is much improved over the original Hornby (ex-Dapol) model. For the first time, a lot (but not all) of the detail differences between different members of this 50-strong class are portrayed. This model in BR lined black as 32640 is in A1X condition with extended smokebox, an LSWR pattern chimney and large coal bunker to represent the loco which used to be based on the Isle of Wight.
This locomotive is good value for money compared to models of similar sized classes. Whilst the Rails of Sheffield/Dapol version is more detailed it comes at a higher price. The running qualities and livery application are all to a good standard and what modellers have come to expect from Hornby.
