About this product

Product Information

After the success of Going My Way, Bing Crosby returned as Father Chuck O'Malley in Leo McCarey's nine-Oscar-nominated drama. This time he's sent to St Mary's Academy, an inner-city school run by the glacial Sister Mary Benedict. The school is under threat from the freeholder, who wants to tear it down for a car park, but O'Malley convinces him of the error of his ways. Along the way, O'Malley and the Sister learn to respect each other as they help the pupils and their parents with their problems, and the film ends with a very individual take on the traditional Nativity play.
