  • Superb value for money, an easy carry-around, weatherproof, long telephoto for sports and wildlife.

Best used with dual IOS capable bodies. Ignore early reviews of the Mk 1 version on Panasonic G3 bodies. This combination was not good. The Mk 2 (this one) is brilliant and can be used hand held with dual IOS (G8 series and later bodies) down to 1/25th sec. even at 300mm. Best at 200mm., f5.6. An excellent lens but don't expect professional quality at this price (around £410 on the street). Good for prints up to A3 from a 16Mpx sensor using RAW and a little tweaking in Photoshop or, better still, Affinity Photo.

  • Panasonic 100-300mm

The lens is very sharp specially when you stop down to f8. That doesn't mean it isn't when used full open. It's handy knowing that it is weather proof. It would have been perfect if the lens didn't get longer when you zoomed but for the price it's great. I have managed to find a tripod bush which is made in Germany fits around the lens which improves the handling on a tripod. All said it's a dam good lens for the money.

  • Would recommend, especially when a lighter day rig is required

First class lens and is a lighter weight balance to my 100-400mm lens. Would recommend, especially when a lighter day rig is required rather than using a tripod or support in an hide.

  • Great lens!

Great lens! Chromatic aberrations very small, almost insignificant. Zoom is great and allows to capture far objects very clear. It will worth every dollar that you spend if you decide to buy this cool lens.

  • Effortless focussing.

Because I saw the results others were getting in my group. I am using it for a week now. Soon I'll get out the Olympus 75-300 to see how they compare. It is big!
