    Great read!

The author, Andrew Taylor, tells a compelling story steeped in history. I live in London so it is even more fascinating to find out more of the city's history. A book that's hard to put down.

  • Most critical review

Good read but needs more intrigue.

I’ve read maybe half of the book following works by C J Sansom and S J Parris, all of which feature the 16th and 17th centuries. Ashes of London is historically excellent but the underlying theme isn’t, as yet, as compelling as those others.
