A wonderful find for baking cooks, this versatile and compelling book has every type of scone you can imagine. The point I was very taken with is that the author also writes a page to follow where the scone originates, all National trust places of history. Great recipes. Short cooking times great tasting scones
The book is good quality but I find the cooking times far too short for the scones to cook thoroughly. Also the size of the scones is enormous, so I make them smaller and get twice as many that way. Inspiring little book
I’m not one for baking but my friend leant me her book and I came home and was so excited that I made cheese, bacon & onion scones. It’s such an inspirational book that I wanted my own because there are some great “curious crumbs of history” to read too. I can’t wait to read through and make more tasty scones.

Will try some of the recipes but none have actually inspired me. There isn't one I have looked at that I have said, "must try that" Such a high proportion of the recipes all add eggs.
