A Good Read
It's a good read. Draws you in. Didn't much like the language but its difficult to find a crime book without bad language. Hoping to buy the rest of the series. Best UK crime novel I've read for years!
Ended up reading this compelling and engrossing novel in just 2 days - brilliant fast-paced plot, unusual location for a crime scene, a historical connection to the "Troubles" in Northern Ireland, believable/real characters and lots of unexpected twists and turns along the way... Shaw has a natural ability to get the reader right inside the head of all the characters, especially the protagonist, Sergeant William South - a complicated, damaged police officer with a dark history and a man who struggles to keep a horrendous secret...
