AUTHOR: Wilhelm Adam (1893-1978) fought in the German army in the First World War and joined the Nazi Party in the 1920s. He wrote his memoir of Stalingrad, with the assistance of Dr Otto Rhle, during his retirement in the 1960s. Tony Le Tissier is a widely published expert on the Second World War on the Eastern Front. His best-known books on the subject are The Battle of Berlin 1945, Zhukov at the Oder, Race For the Reichstag, Berlin Battlefield Guide and The Siege of Kstrin 1945.
