This is a replacement for 9780564001019 and has identical contents to the second edition. This is a revision of the 1901 American Standard Version, which was a revision of the King James Version, published in 1901, which seeks to preserve all that is in the historic English translations, but also to incorporate insights from the more ancient manuscripts discovered in the last century. It uses simple, enduring words and is designed for use in public and private worship, for reading and instruction. It tends to feature a formal equivalence, or word-for-word, translation. Nice translation, easy to read, easy to understand.
Very nice translation, easy to read and easy to understand. The bible is smaller then I expected (very compact and almost in the 'thinline' category), hardcover (no dust jacket, no ribbon marker, but very beautiful cover design). Small, lightweight, easy to hold, easy to carry around. Nice font, but pretty small (around 7-8-9, I can't tell exactly) so keep that in mind. It's a full black letter edition. I combines both a 2 and 3 column format, it has many translation notes and references, and lots of black and white artworks, illustrations and helpful maps. It contains a preface, a message to the reader, a list with the maps / plans used in the bible and a list with the books of the old and new testament. Then the text itself. So, straight to the point. And it also lays flat on every page, which I really appreciate. I recommend this bible!

This is the Bible I had in school with all the finely drawn pictures lady by a well and someone sewing seeds. It is a good size It has a hard back it's real quality And the price is amazing To think in China people walk for a hundred miles for a Bible or a whole village shares 1 Bible It's no wonder it's been the Number one best selling book since records began to today.
