On an island lives a boy called Peter and his band of merry lost boys, young forever. That is, unless they get sick or killed by pirates or eaten by crocodiles or unless - inexplicably - they grow old. For some of them do grow old, and nobody knows why. One of these boys is called Jamie, and he was the first boy that Peter ever brought to the island. Jamie's lived there for longer than he can remember, and it's not all fun and games. Peter thinks the boys are replaceable, that if one dies or grows up, he can swap in another from the Other Place, the place where he collects new playmates. Really disappointed
I'd previously read Christina Henry's Alice, and loved how imaginative all the different characters, places and things were. Lost Boy I found was really predictable and you could guess the plotline really easily as you read on. I think I got to chapter 8 whereby I already knew what was going to happen. This made me not want to read the rest of the book because I already knew the outcomes. I was really disappointed how basic the storyline was. I hope her next book is better with more packed content and backstories with more twists in the details.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It's a great take on an absolute classic!
Loved this book ~ lost myself in one of my favourite childhood books but this time with a dark fairy tale storyline. Theres not much text on each page so didn't take more than a week to read but to be honest didn't want to put it down. It's a great take on an absolute classic.
