  • Very "readable"

So many books have been written about our English hero but, of those I have read, this one stands out as an edition I look forward to reading to my grandson in years to come. It has historical notes woven into the text to explain the background to the stories, and the language is very "readable". A big plus is the illustrations that combine colour and texture, and create a real atmosphere. My only criticism is that many pictures span two pages so some of the detail is inevitably distorted or lost in the curved chasm in the middle.
