  • Flagship phone line continue to hold up

Overall I've been happy with Samsung's Galaxy line and it has not changed with the Note8. I use it for business and it has done a superb job. Battery life is incredible; I am usually in the 40% range by the end of the day without ever placing it on a charger. The phone is slim and tall but narrow so there isn't much room to rest my hand when writing with the S pen and the multitude of options displayed when taking a photo eat up too much of the screen however there may be a way to reduce this in setting I just haven't looked yet. I expect to get years of life out of this phone.

  • Almost Perfect. Not for Everyone

I love the Notes. I had a Note 4 as my first Note and it was the best phone I ever had. It was working great even at 5 years old, but had hardware issues that made it unreliable. I shopped around and got the unlocked Note 8 for a killer deal. Yes, it's not cheap, but it's worth it, and no other flagship phone has a stylus which I didn't want to give up. This thing is beautiful. Samsung's Galaxy phones after 2015 are some of the most beautiful ever. I got the Orchid Gray and the sides and back are color coordinated along with the S Pen. Fit and finish are perfect. The Notes are always the highest-spec phones so it's got the latest (for 2017) hardware and design. You get 6GB RAM,64GB internal storage with expandable micro SD up to 256 GB. The Infinity screen is 6.3" and has nearly no to and bottom bezels and it's curved on the sides too. The resolution is incredible at 2K 515 ppi super Amoled +. Gets crazy bright and pretty dim. The processor is the Snapdragon 835 SoC 8 core so it's fast and handled my most demanding apps fine. I don't play games though. It came with Android Oreo. The body is tall and a little slimmer than the Note 7, a lot like the Galaxy S8+ but taller. That makes it easier to use than my Note 4, but the height made it stick out of my pockets. It's also heavy at 196 grams, about 20 grams more than the S8. The body is also super slippery and catches fingerprints like crazy, so put a case on it. It's pretty scratch resistant, but you'll want a case and screen protector. The S Pen is amazing. It's way better than the Note 4's. Battery life is very good. I got through the whole day without charging. The camera is one of the best smartphone cameras of all time. Period. Two 12 megapixel lenses with dual iOS on both cameras, plus 2x optical zoom on one. You can take great shots and the large f1.7 aperture helps low light pictures to look great without using the flash. It shows both 1080 and 4k video. The only thing missing is 4k at 60 fps, but the 30 fps looks great and you still get 60 fps on 1080. The only downsides of the Note 8 is the price, the weight, and the size that might be too much for some, but if you want a phone built around a stylus your choices ate limited to this and the LG Stylo, which is an entry- level/midrange phone with nowhere near the capabilities of the Notes in every way, but costs 1/3 as much. Now that you can get a near-new Note 8 for around $400, if the size doesn't matter, get one.

  • Fast, bright, and intuitive (at least when switching from an earlier Note)

The phone came in generic packaging, but was well packed and completely protected. It looks completely new. Included with it were instructions for initial setup, a charger (Sharkk model HYP-14-1000), and a cable. I upgraded to the Note 8 because I loved the Note 4, but wanted something a little more budget-friendly than the bleeding-edge Note 10. I've had it just a day, and so far I love it! As the phone is unlocked and carrier agnostic, it has none of the bloatware you would find on a carrier's product. I had to bring it to my carrier's store because the SIM card was not the same size as the one in my Note 4 and couldn't simply be transferred. In order to keep it lean and streamlined, I did not permit them to backup/restore my old phone to the new one, but they did handle the setup and put it on their network. I've installed virtually all of the applications I had on my old phone, and they all work great. I've had it powered on for almost 24 hours, and the battery is only down to 65%. The S-Pen feels more sensitive. I use it in Autodesk Sketch Pad, and feel better able to utilize the pressure sensitivity to change the brush strokes. I honestly don't know what I am missing from the later iterations of the Note, but I'm loving the 8. Because the model is a few years old, be prepared to go through a few iterations of security-patch updates as you get started. I'm hoping to continue enjoying this phone for a long time.

  • Good choise

Great phone with great price ..i love it the camera is great ..but the battery life is misrable actully, but i can see why ...for a phone with this high spec. Recommended but need to put it in a full case becuase the edge design for the screen make the screen kinda weaker ..my phone is already has crack in the first week on the corners

  • It's awesome but...

Fantastic phone that allows me to do so much more, a lot of features you would get with a tablet. Switching my service over was as easy as putting in my sim. However the back of the phone shattered and I can't send text messages, I can only send MMS and recieve SMS. Tried every trouble shooting method out there.

  • Awesomeness wrapped in one!!

Wow! This is the best phone I have ever owned. Large storage capacity, excellent dual cameras, long battery life and charges super fast. Very sleek and large screen. I love the pen too. This phone has a whole lot of features and am really enjoying it.

  • Galaxy Note 8 seems like a winner

I can't comment on the battery life as the unit is new and the battery life is really good now. Time will tell on that front. I was looking for a large phone (like my Note 3 but this is slightly smaller). I'm wary of the edge technology as I've witnessed lots of damage to these screens (I do construction work) and although I've outfitted the phone with the Otterbox Defender and Otterbox screen protection, I'm not completely comfortable with this screen concept. Time will tell on this front too. The phone is fast and has tonnes of features (although some are missing that I was very fond of on the Note 3: the easily expanding/contracting font size via the volume buttons AND the great feature on the camera whereby the shutter could be activated by touching the screen anywhere (not just the shutter button). I'm missing these perks. The camera is considerably better and faster and the fingerprint sensor security feature is pretty cool. I'm discovering new features every day (that's a big part of the fun with a new device)

  • Note 8... the legacy still continues.

As all devices or almost all of them, the galaxy note legacy is still the best (in its type with electronic pencil and other features) smart phone in the market (for me). No complain and not much to say about the Galaxy Note 8, if the people wants a full review go to you tube and go for it. I'm with the family of the galaxy notes, my first smart phone was the note 2 and still I'm with them, no other device from other brand, Samsung is the company which I follow since 10 years ago, and I'm not thinking in change it for others 5 or 10 years.

  • Replaced 2 Devices with this Powerful phone!

Beautiful Screen & More powerful than both my 7 year old Desktop and Laptop! This phone runs a 4K 27" Monitor using Samsung DEX! *Edit* NOT! Does NOT run 4K! Neither my Desktop or Laptop (Nor the phone) were capable of doing this. I absolutely hate Windows 10, so have been running Windows 7 since it came out, but Windows 7 will reach end of life in 6 months so GOODBYE Microsoft, U really screwed yourselves after Windows 7 was your Best OS. Today, Android and my Note 8 has Completely replaced: 1.) My Old phone 2.) My Desktop PC *Edit* (NOT) 3.) My Laptop computer 4.) Microsoft (except Excel) Don't need Microsoft anymore *Edit* NOT! I'm now forced to run Windows 10 on a NUC in order to run my 4k Monitor & 4K TV at 4K resolution. The Phones do not run true 4K as I previously THOUGHT, not happening yet.

  • Great phone!

Received phone earlier than expected! Have had no issues with it. It's a huge improvement from my former Samsung Galaxy J7. I went with the Note 8 because I had a Note 2 that I adored. So far, it's good, although the battery life if short. Maybe I'm just using it more than my previous model.
